Ernie Goss, Ph.D. is the Jack MacAllister Chair in Economics at Creighton University. He has published more than 100 research studies focusing primarily on economic forecasting and on the statistical analysis of business and economic data. Dr. Goss will discuss the motivations and impacts of the Federal Reserve's October rate cut and its balance sheet position. How much lower will rates fall and will their rate stance impact gold prices, cryptocurrency prices, and mortgage rates? Goss will also discuss the U.S. debt burden and the consequences of failing to address this peril. Additionally, Goss will provide a summary of Creighton's monthly survey of manufacturers in 9 Mid-American states, and monthly survey of bank CEOs in 10 Rural Mainstreet states.
